Thanks to the reconstruction proceeding at a miraculous pace, the scars of destruction to the thoroughly destroyed headquarters of the regular army and its surrounding city were becoming less and less noticeable. But just then, a video transmission arrives at HQ. Discovered in the clip is a brief flash of a figure appearing to be one of Morden’s soldiers. HQ swiftly organizes a six-man covert strike force assigned with the following objectives: confirm the presence of Morden’s forces, and eliminate them—with extreme prejudice. Marco, Tarma, Eri, and Fio are quickly assembled as the initial members for this mission. Ralf and Clark, who had previously thrown in their lots with Marco and company, are also soon on board. So begins our heroes infiltration of Garbage Island, perhaps the final lair of Morden’s Forces. But will this be the last gasp of the dreaded General Donald Morden? We shall see. Once more into the breach.

After General Morden is defeated and captured, a mysterious army arrives from the future to save him. They reveal themselves to be the Mars People and their goal is to provide their future leader with special advanced weaponry to take on his enemies in the present. Classic Metal Slug characters Marco, Tarma, Fio, Eri, Ralf, and Clark return once again to take on General Morden and his new and improved Rebel Army.

just like the other metal slug games but new weapons, new enemies, new characters, and new vehicles. Basically all it is is part 7 from the DS version but on the PSP with the same options. It is much like the arcade version with the animated blood which lacks on the DS version, and has better graphics than the DS version. I recommend you buy the PSP version instead of the DS version its much better.

It goes without saying that Metal Slug XX is by far one of the best entries in the series and for fans a must have game.
Metal Slug XX is more or less a retooling of Metal Slug 7 which saw release on the DS a while back. Though the obvious difference in screen size and graphical power of the PSP make this the version to get. The PSP release removes many of the negative aspects of Metal Slug 7. For example the PSP game supports two player wifi which was sorely missed in the DS release. The first thing you will notice is how great this game looks now, the sprites(chearcters) are easily visiable on the PSP's screen and unlike the DS version the enviroments and enemies are easy to see and do not feature the DS's heavily pixleated background art. This game is a bit on th short side but like all the Metal Slugs the value is in the combat academy and replaying the game trying to save all the different soldiers in the game. Overall I can't recommend this enough, if you like old school 2D shooters then this will be exactly what your looking for.

Metal Slug XX is an awesome addition to the MS series, and I recommend it to anyone who likes military games or humorous games, and it has plenty of both!

Fun and ridiculously impossible to survive, but it is done in under 2 hours. For 20 bucks its just not worth it. The extras are just rehashed levels, its like playing the same level over and over again.
